It was a great weekend for Rise Above Plastics efforts in Encinitas in North San Diego County. It began with this article in the Coast News, posted on Thursday and this Community Forum piece in the North County Times on Friday. It rolled on, on Saturday, with presence at the Switchfoot Bro-Am and with a great free Sunset Screening at the Cottonwood Creek Film Festival. Finally, it culminated with a press conference at Encinitas Environment Day to announce the petition requesting the reduction or elimination of plastic bags in the City of Encinitas.
